Strictly speaking, it was a brave choice of location to finally unveil your mystery man.
Comedian Miranda Hart, who used to joke about always being the bridesmaid, took her new beau to the dance floor on Saturday ending fevered speculation about the identity of the fella she has cryptically referred to as “The Mould Man”.
Miranda, 51, was joined by husband Richard Fairs on a sparking date at Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night.
She stunned fans after revealing she had got hitched after dating a mystery man with salt-and-pepper hair who removed mould from her house during renovations in the peak of the pandemic in 2020.
He was later revealed as divorcee Mr Fairs.
And on Saturday, in a vanishingly rare joint appearance, her smartly dressed and gallant hubby drove her to Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire where the smash hit show is recorded, and back home again.
The newlyweds were in the audience to support actress Sarah Hadland, 53, who played Stevie Sutton in the BAFTA-nominated comedy television series Miranda as she competes in the amateur dancing show.
Beaming Miranda, looking chic in a black jacket and matching dress, sported a sparkler on her finger, and is clearly looking forward to spending Christmas with her knight in shining armour.
Until recently Torquay-born Miranda remained tight-lipped about her husband's identity, referring to him only as “The Boy” or “The Mould Man” in her new book, I Haven't Been Completely Honest With You.
But she revealed they got engaged in January during a trip to Kew Gardens in West London after gushing how they had “fallen hopelessly in love with each other”.
Showing off her ring on The One Show last week, Strictly superfan Miranda told her fans about going weak at the knees during Richard's proposal, saying: “We stood still on the bridge overlooking the lake when the silence was pierced as he rather seriously said, 'Miranda'. I turned around, and as I did, he got down on one knee.
"I don't remember anything else because I simply burst out crying, apparently saying yes before he had finished the sentence (awkward if he'd been tying a shoelace…).”
Tonight Gladiator and former Olympian Montell Douglas, 38, became the 10th celebrity to be booted off the show during the Musical Week quarter-final.
Montell and her professional partner Johannes Radebe were defeated in a dance-off by former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec.
This Saturday, the remaining five couples will battle it out in the semi-final, with each performing two dances.
