Miss America 2025 Prize: How much do the finalists get and how is the scholarship money used?

The headquarters of Miss America announces that more than $300,000k in tuition scholarships will be awarded at the national Miss America 2025 and Miss America for Teens competitions to be held in the beautiful city of Orlando, Florida.

All preliminary and final competition events will be held from December 28 to January 5, with preliminary competitions at the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center, and the "Miss America Has Talent" new talent preliminary competition on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

The new Miss America 2025

Each year, Miss America, the iconic 100-year-old competition brand and event, awards more than $5 million in scholarships to young women across the country and millions more in-kind through local, state and national events.

The new Miss America 2025 wins the opportunity to travel across the United States as a brand ambassador and will receive a $50,000 tuition scholarship.

The Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2025 will also receive a $50,000 tuition scholarship to an accredited school of her choice, or she may choose a four-year scholarship to the University of Alabama, home of TikTok's famous "Bama Rush".

Eligibility requirements for the competition

To be eligible to compete in Miss America, contestants must be between the ages of 18 and 28. Women between the ages of 14 and 17 are eligible to compete in Miss America's Teen, its sister pageant.

Miss America contestants can't be married or have children. It's a rule that past winners, including Grace Stanke and Camille Schrier, have defended in interviews with Business Insider.

Miss America includes a talent competition. It also includes evening wear, interviews and fitness rounds. The pageant eliminated its swimsuit round in 2018 and announced that it would no longer judge contestants based on their "external physical appearance."

Awards for Miss America

Miss America was one of the first organizations in the country to offer college scholarships to women, which it began doing in 1945.

The organization announced that it would award more than $250,000 in tuition scholarships for the Miss America 2024 and Miss America's Teen pageants.

The Miss America winner received $60,000 for tuition. The teenage winner could receive a $60,000 tuition scholarship to an accredited college of her choice or opt for a four-year scholarship to the University of Alabama.
