Both Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen spent Thanksgiving at the hospital in one harrowing coincidence.
The actors — who famously played siblings on the hit sitcom Modern Family — posted via Instagram that they each had to take their respective sons to the emergency room on Turkey Day.
On Thursday, November 28, Bowen, 54, who shares sons Oliver, 17, John, 15, and Gustav, 15, with ex-husband Scott Phillips, posted a photo of one of her boys standing outside the ER at night.
Hospital visits during the holiday season are nothing new for the mom of three, as she captioned her post, "It's not a holiday without a trip to the ER. (He's fine, btw) HAPPY THANKSGIVING."
Ferguson, 49, for his part, posted a picture on Friday, November 29, of his son lying on his chest in a hospital bed. The Emmy-nominated actor shares two sons with husband Justin Mikita: Beckett Mercer, 4, and Sullivan 'Sully' Louis, 2.
In his caption, Ferguson acknowledged his former co-star helped ease some of the stress of being in the hospital with his kiddo.
"I have received a lot of parenting wisdom from @itsjuliebowen so seeing I wasn't the only one with a kid in the ER on Thanksgiving was comforting. (He's also fine.) Thank you to the kind folks at Lennox Health. NYC really DOES have the best healthcare," the Tony Award winner penned.
It's been a challenging week for the Cocaine Bear actor, who lost his mother, Anne Ferguson, on Monday, November 25.
The Montana native paid tribute to his mother on Thursday with an Instagram carousel featuring a childhood photo and a more recent snap of the mother-son duo.
"This photo of me taking my first steps away from my mom's opened arms is one of my favorite pictures. In recent days I helped my mom take some of her last steps. We said goodbye to her on Tuesday November 25," Ferguson wrote. "Today I give thanks that I was able to be with her in her final moments on this earth. You only get one mom and I'm glad she was mine. My arms will always be open for you. RIP Mom."
