Molly from Southern Charm was adopted by two high-profile attorneys - so who are they?!

Southern Charm’s Molly O’Connell has only just joined the show, but made quite the mark by revealing she was raised by two high-profile attorneys at the young age of three DAYS old.

She became well-known for strutting her stuff on America’s Next Top Model in 2010, but Southern Charm newbie Molly is now living it up in Charleston. Molly was put up for adoption days after being born.

Who are Molly’s high-profile parents?!

Michael O’Connell and Ann Stirling, from Charleston, are Molly’s high-profile parents who adopted her at three days old. She’s super close to her father, who she says is the “best man she’s ever known.”

Her parents opened a private practice, Stirling O’Connell, back in 1982. Michael is named one of the top 100 criminal defence attorneys in the US and has represented multiple people charged with murder.

Michael was in the US Army for a year and served from Vietnam. His wife, Ann, has now retired and often spends time with their grandchildren. Michael usually joins or plays golf on the Charleston City Course.

Her parents tracked down her family

Molly revealed how her parents knew someone who handled her adoption case. They still have a background report on her, and found out who her biological parents are from social services.

She wrote on Instagram, “I have no idea how my parents even found it!! But typically it’s hard to find information like this in South Carolina because most adoptions are “closed”.”

Molly was referred to as ‘Baby C’ after she was born in 1988, and admits she “was crying constantly as a child wanting to know my birth mother.” She added, “It’s weird how different people react to adoption!!!”

Molly told an Instagram follower how she’s “found a lot of 3-4th cousins” on ancestry websites but adds that there’s “nobody close enough to have much info” on her close family members.

She knows that her birth mom’s name starts with a C, and has met her before. Molly said that “it wasn’t anything life changing” but adds that they’re “identical in the face except she has brown eyes.”

Molly said in 2021 that she’s never met her biological father, even though she knows his name already, yet knows all the information on his age, height, hair color, and health information.
