Molly-Mae Hague has revealed that the reason behind her break-up Tommy Fury’s break up may only come to light ‘when he’s ready’.
The 25-year-old influencer shocked the nation after announcing her split from boxer Tommy Fury, also 25, in August, five years after they got together on Love Island.
The former couple had been engaged and share one daughter, Bambi, who they now co-parent.
Since the end of their relationship some have levelled cheating accusations at Tommy, which he has firmly denied.
Although neither party has opened up about the real issue that drove them apart, in a new interview Molly-Mae explained that more insight could be on the horizon – but it lay at Tommy’s feet.
‘No one will ever really know what went down apart from Tommy and I, and that’s how we’d like to keep it, for Bambi’s sake,’ she told British Vogue.
But, she added: ‘I do think that he will talk about things eventually. I do think that when he’s ready, like, maybe more will be said. But I think that’s for him to do on his terms.
‘It’s not like it’s gossip, it’s real life and it’s, you know, it’s a really deep situation. It’s really sad.’
Whatever the case, the sad situation clearly took the influencer by surprise, as she admitted the ‘circumstances were a bit of a shock’.
She continued: ‘I didn’t want what happened to happen. [I] wanted to get married to Tommy, one hundred per cent, and that would never have changed.
‘I wanted to get married next September and it’s very hard when it’s kind of taken away. But I will always have a lot of love and respect for him.’
She added that she had been planning a ‘big wedding’ that would have been social media worthy. Although after everything that has happened she has realised that ‘doesn’t make [her] happy.’
The fashion brand owner did offer an insight into her life co-parenting Bambi saying that it was ‘going well’ and the pair were being ‘really mature about it’.
Things have settled since the initial break-up, with Molly-Mae recalling: ‘[I] had a few days where I thought, “I don’t really know how I’m going to get through this”‘ and leant on the support of her close ‘four friends’.
The reality star is not the only one to imply that any confession will come from Tommy’s side.
In an interview with MailOnline ahead of the release of his memoir, he called the cheating allegations ‘completely false’ and said he still still loved Molly until his ‘final breath’.
At the time, he added: ‘The truth will come out in time and when it does I think a lot of people might regret their actions and unkind words. The whole world will, I reckon.
‘What the public thinks is going on isn’t what is going on. It’s not something I envisaged happening, but it didn’t come out of nowhere.
‘It’s a thing that was there previously to all this happening, but the only people who know what is going on in our relationship is between me and Molly.’
Although in interviews since he has doubled down that he wants to keep the aftermath of the split ‘private’.
‘There has been a lot of critics out there, and there will be to the day I die. Out of respect to Molly, and our relationship, we will deal with it in private,’ he said on This Morning last month.
As for Molly, she has a firm eye towards the future as she continues to build her brand Maebe.
She has previously called this a ‘new era of my life’ and that it was ‘good timing for this to happen’ as she has been focusing on her new line.
She has also continued to post on YouTube to her 1.95 million subscribers and used the day-in-the-life videos to open up about how she gets through ‘hard’ evenings.
The December issue of British Vogue is available via digital download and on newsstands from Tuesday 19th November.
