A first-time mom was not prepared for what she saw on the screen after checking her baby's camera at 4:55 a.m.

Jodie Epps, who lives in London, woke up in the early hours of the morning and rushed to check the footage, then shared it later in a clip on TikTok.

"My baby was about 5½ months old at the time and had been sleeping in his cot, in his own room, for about two weeks," the 24-year-old mother said.

A light sleeper, the mom of one keeps her baby monitor on loud so that any sound alerts her.

"I could hear him moving around, so I immediately checked my phone to see it was 4:55 a.m.," she told Newsweek.

What she saw was unexpected—her little one had discovered the mobile hanging over his crib and was seemingly delighted by the early morning entertainment. In the clip, he starts swiping it, with a huge smile on his face.

In her caption, Epps asks other social media users to tell her "why he looks so happy with himself."

"I had to film what I was seeing straight away, as it was honestly just the cutest but funniest thing. He was so happy with what he was doing and having the time of his life," she told Newsweek.

Following the humorous moment, Epps decided to settle him back to sleep with a bottle. She's also taking extra precautions, removing the mobile during naptime to ensure her baby's safety.

Epps' video has reached over 45,000 views since it was posted at the beginning of October. Other TikTok users found her son's late-night antics adorable and commented on his cute smile.

Some warned the mom about the temperature displayed on the baby monitor, which read 28 degrees Celsius.

"The temperature on the monitor is not correct, and we use a temperature egg in his room to accurately keep track," Epps told Newsweek in response to the concerns.

Speaking to the reaction online, Epps said it's been positive. "There have been a few people [giving] advice on to remove the cot mobile and about the high temperature on the monitor, but all which were nice advice from other moms."
