Mom Finds Out Daughter Is Pregnant, Tears Over What She Does Next

2 hours ago 1

A grandma-to-be has captured hearts online after hearing the news that her daughter is expecting.

In a clip on TikTok, Abby Weeks says to her parents that she "has an announcement to make." Almost immediately, her mom seems to predict exactly what she is going to say.

Taking off her glasses so she can concentrate on what's about to be said, the mom simultaneously sits up and says, "You're not pregnant."

The mom looks between Weeks and her partner and asks, "Are you pregnant?" Addressing her daughter directly, she asks again, "Are you pregnant, Abby?"

Weeks' confirmation is inaudible, but judging by her mom's reaction, it's a firm "yes." Overjoyed, Weeks' mom screams in delight; all the while, her dad is trying to catch up with it all. Newsweek reached out to @acaughman via TikTok. We could not verify details of the case.

In all the excitement, Weeks' mom looks like she doesn't know who to hug first. She opens her arms out to her husband but soon turns to her daughter for a congratulatory hug. In what seems to be the most heartwarming moment of the whole clip, Weeks' mom climbs onto her husband still sat in the chair, and they embrace one another.

Weeks' clip has gone viral on TikTok, amassing almost 1 million views on the platform. Over 1,500 users commented on the video, with many in tears over Weeks' mom's reaction.

"How she went to hug your dad but realized she wanted to hug you first," one user commented. "Your mom climbing into your dad's lap to celebrate being grandparents sent me off the edge," another wrote, while a third called it a "we did it" moment.

A 2018 study by AARP found that 90 percent of grandparents reported that being a grandparent is the single most fulfilling part of their life. Many expressed excitement and joy about the role because it allows them to bond with their grandchildren without the day-to-day responsibilities of parenting.

Many were quick to comment that Weeks' mom seemed to just know what her daughter was about to announce. "A mom's intuition is wild! When I took my first pregnancy test, my mom called 2 hours later from the other side of the country asking if I was okay because she had a feeling. Mom's just know!" one user shared.

Another shared how their grandma knew she was pregnant before she did. "She whispered it to me and she passed a day later. 8 months later her namesake was born," she wrote.
