Every driver knows how important car mats are for keeping the vehicle’s floor clean.

However, over time, these mats can get really dirty, and it’s easy to forget they need a good cleaning. The dirt and grime can be tough to remove, making it hard to restore the mats to their original condition.

But one man claims to have found a simple solution that could save you the hassle and expense of buying new ones. Armen Adamjan, the creator behind Creative Explained, is known for his clever life hacks which save both time and money.

His latest cleaning tip is a DIY method that’s surprisingly easy. All you need are two items: an electric drill and, believe it or not, a toilet brush.

In his viral video, which gained over 14,200 likes, Adamjan shows how he modifies an inexpensive toilet brush by trimming down the handle.

He then attaches the brush to the drill and scrubs the car mat, quickly loosening all the dirt. The result? Mats that look professionally cleaned.

After cleaning, Adamjan proudly shows off the mat, saying: "That’s amazing." His viewers seem to agree, with hundreds of comments on TikTok. One user said: "I’m going to try that next time thanks."

Another wrote: "That’s awesome thanks." Someone else humorously pointed out the downside: "All that dirt inside the house. Lol. Cool idea though."

While this can be an effective way to cut the cost of motoring, Grant from the YouTube channel Scottish Car Clan recently warned drivers to avoid trying to repair squeaking belts with degreasers, such as WD40.
