On Sunday night, billionaire Elon Musk did two pathetic little Dean Screams for a crowd of MAGA voters in Madison Square Garden. On Monday morning, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner filed a lawsuit to stop Musk’s $1 million giveaway to registered voters in America’s swing states.
The Philadelphia Inquirer broke the story. DA Krasner filed the lawsuit in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. Through Musk’s America PAC, he’s been giving out $1 million a day to registered voters in swing states who sign a petition endorsing free speech and the Second Amendment. According to the Inquirer, the PAC has given away more than $9 million so far. Half of it has gone to voters in Pennsylvania.
Musk’s petition and the $1 million giveaway are not contingent on the recipients voting for Trump, but it’s very clear which candidate the billionaire is endorsing. And legal scholars and the Justice Department have both warned Musk that his scheme may be illegal. The lawsuit in Philadelphia represents the first official legal challenge against the lottery. It may not be the last.

“America PAC and Musk must be stopped, immediately, before the upcoming Presidential Election on Nov. 5,” the lawsuit says, according to the Inquirer. “That is because America PAC and Musk hatched their illegal lottery scheme to influence voters in that election.”
Musk wants to be the Mr Beast of politics but, somehow, he has even less personal charisma than the grinning YouTuber. On Sunday, the Trump campaign hosted an “America First” rally at Madison Square Garden that featured overt racism and thinly veiled hints at how team MAGA would contest the election if they lost.
Musk was on hand to introduce Melania. When he strutted on stage to introduce the first lady, he called attention to his black MAGA hat written in a Blackletter-style font. “I’m not just MAGA,” he said. “I’m dark, gothic MAGA.”
Musk grinned as the crowd cheered him. He loved the adulation and gave out a few less-than-barbaric yawps for those in attendance. Seemingly unable to pull in a full breath from his diaphragm, the tech mogul who plans to colonize Mars burbled a pathetic yell at the audience while invoking a Fortnite emote.
As the billionaire yipped on Sunday night, dark clouds gathered around him. On Friday, the Wall Street Journal broke the news that he’s had private conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin dating back to 2022. Musk, who has a bunch of government contracts, is a clear national security threat. The Krasner lawsuit is yet another hole in Musk’s leaky empire.
Of course, none of it may matter if Trump wins.
