NASCAR driver Erik Jones and his wife, Holly, have welcomed their first child. Sharing the joyous news via social media, Holly introduced their son, David Wayne Jones, who arrived on November 27th at 12:11 PM.
The couple posted:
"Thanksgiving looked a little different for us this year...David Wayne Jones was born 11/27 at 12:11 PM.
"Labor didn't go exactly according to plan, but mom and baby are both good and healthy! Cannot wait to get home for Oscar [their dog] to meet his new little brother."
Fans and others from within the NASCAR community were quick to congratulate the couple, including Legacy Motor Club co-owner Jimmie Johnson who commented:
"Congratulations!"
Known for steering the No. 43 Toyota under the Legacy Motor Club banner, Jones has been dealing with substantial changes within his career. The 2024 season, a transitional year with Legacy Motor Club's shift to a Toyota partnership, presented challenges. With the team new to this configuration, Jones faced hurdles that culminated in a 29th place finish in the overall standings.
His teammate, John Hunter Nemechek, concluded even further back at 35th. Despite these results, Legacy Motor Club has confirmed huge new signings and a commitment to fostering in-house data capabilities.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Legacy Motor Club confirmed the signing of motorsports veteran, Chad Johnston, as manager of race engineering. Commenting on his new position, Johnston explained, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports:
"I am excited to join LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and start a new journey in my career and am thankful to Maury (Gallagher), Jimmie (Johnson), and Cal (Wells III) for this opportunity.
"I look forward to the challenges ahead and hope with my experience and knowledge I can help build LEGACY M.C. into a top-tier winning organization."
Legacy Motor Club technical director Brian Campe also commented on the new signing:
"Chad is a great hire for us at Legacy Motor Club.
"His decades of experience and extensive knowledge will make him a huge benefit to the CLUB. We have a lot of work to do this off-season and Chad's expertise will help us accomplish our goals."
Jones signed a multi-year contract extension with the team earlier this year. He commented at the time:
"I'm looking forward to what we can build at Legacy Motor Club.
"I've been with the No. 43 car for a handful of years and feel like I'm coming into some of the best years of my career. I am hoping to grow alongside Legacy MC in the seasons to come."
