Author Neil Gaiman has been the subject of multiple sexual assault accusations reportedly involving several women who have come forth to talk about their experience with the author, and he recently made a statement regarding the claims.
The 64-year-old "Sandman" author addressed the accusations with an entry on his personal blog on Tuesday, January 14, where he posted a message for his fans. In the post, Gaiman stated, "I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever."
Despite denying the claims his accusers have presented, the author admitted that he may not have handled the relationships in the best way and explained, "I was emotionally unavailable while being sexually available, self-focused and not as thoughtful as I could or should have been." Later in the blog post Gaiman doubled down on his innocence and wrote, "I'm not willing to turn my back on the truth, and I can't accept being described as someone I am not, and cannot and will not admit to doing things I didn't do."
