Netflix has confirmed Missing You, their next Harlan Coben thriller with Rosalind Eleazar leading the cast, will arrive on the platform Jan. 1.
The limited series follows the success of Coben’s Fool Me Once, which became one of the streaming giant’s most-watched shows when it aired on New Year’s Day earlier this year, accruing over 108 million views.
Based on Coben’s book, Missing You is about Kat Donovan (Eleazar), a detective specialising in Missing Persons. Eleven years ago, her fiance Josh, the love of her life, vanished without a trace, and she hasn’t heard from him since.
Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s unexpected reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.
Missing You will also star Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner and James Nesbitt.
The five-part series is produced by Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios. Coben will serve as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions.
In keeping with previous Harlan Coben adaptations, Missing You relocates the story from the U.S. to the U.K. Coben is serving as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions. Missing You and Run Away will be the 9th and 10th Coben on-screen adaptations, respectively, produced via his ongoing creative partnership with the streaming giant.
