New England Patriots Recreate Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Announcement

Kendrick Lamar is heading on tour, and the New England Patriots may have come up with the cleverest way to promote his upcoming show at their stadium.

The Patriots’ social team shared a video in which wide receiver Kendrick Bourne remade Lamar’s viral announcement video when he revealed that he’d be the headlining performer at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

“You ready?” asks Bourne at the start of the video, before announcing who he is. “Kendrick Lamar will be performing at Gillette Stadium. Will you be showing up?”

Bourne then referenced Lamar’s “round two” line that many believed was a reference to Drake. “There’s only one opportunity to see him here. There’s no round twos. Catch him here at Gillette Stadium on May 12.”

The Patriots and their social team are tapped into all things Lamar. The franchise also referenced the "Not Like Us" rapper's viral MUSTARRRRRD meme when they shared a picture of Tom Brady screaming on X with the line as the caption.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Lamar will be heading out on a massive stadium tour with SZA called the Grand National Tour in 2025. It’ll kick off on Apr. 19 in Minneapolis, MN at the U.S. Bank Stadium and will wrap up on Jun. 18 in Washington, D.C. at the Northwest Stadium.

After an exclusive Cash App Visa Card pre-sale that begins tomorrow (Dec. 4) at 10 a.m. local time, general on-sale for tickets will go on sale Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m.

Lamar’s stadium tour announcement came on the same day that his Grammy-nominated diss song “Not Like Us" was revealed to be the top entry on Apple Music’s year-end global songs chart. It beat out other massive songs from this year like Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” and Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things.”

The New England Patriots aren’t the only major group recently showing love to Lamar. Heinz recently created billboards that call the rapper a G.O.A.T and promote their mustard using the same viral line that the Patriots used in their social post.
