New Look's 'stunning' £25 bag 'just like' £7k vintage Hermes version

The structured handbags are similar in design, but come with a huge price difference for high street shoppers

New Look is stocking a bag that bears a striking resemblance to a designer alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new crowd-pleaser.

The retailer's Black Leather-Look Top Handle Crossbody Bag looks similar to a style by designer brand Hermès, but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the New Look version for £24.99, while the Hermès Vintage Kelly 28 leather handbag carries a price tag of £7,087 online.

The bags are similar, with a leather-look finish and structured shape. They also both have detachable crossbody straps and feature gold-tone hardware such as a small padlock.

However, the designer bag is slightly larger and is made with real leather, while New Look's bag is faux leather. The cheaper bag features a more textured finish and has added gold-tone hardware.

New Look's description reads: "Designed with an optional crossbody strap for versatile carrying, this compact top-handle bag is the go-to choice on busy days and weekends." The bag has an overall rating of five stars online, with no negative reviews.

Among the rave comments, one person said: "Obsessed- perfect size! The lock/clasp is magnetic and has a lip so it's easy to close. The colour is stunning!"
