If you've been thinking of joining of video doorbell revolution there's now another new device from the security experts at Swann that will keep watch over your home. It's called the SwannBuddy4K and it has one feature that rivals such as Ring and Google's Nest can't currently match. Like most of the devices on sale right now, the SwannBuddy4K will connect to your phone and send instant alerts when someone, or something, appears on the driveway or rings the bell.

Live footage can be viewed along with any videos that have been recorded throughout the day or night plus there's the usual ability to speak to people who are waiting outside your door.

It's pretty standard stuff but where this gadget gets a little smarter than the competition is that it can generate automatic responses using clever SwannShield AI technology. Swann is even promising that its replies will sound natural and just like a real human rather than a robot.

That means if you miss the alert and aren't home, the person outside will still get a useful response. Swann says its doorbell can be programmed to tell delivery drivers where to place packages or even be set to sound more firm should a stranger knock on the door.

"You can set the demeanour of responses, choosing between polite, disinterested or aggressive to adequately deal with the type and nature of visitors to your home," Swann explained.

Other video doorbells can send instant replies but this is one of the first to generate responses using AI. Swann has confirmed that these messages are not pre-recorded, but rather are dynamic, AI-generated responses reacting to the specific situation.

Speaking about the new camera, Alex Talevski, CEO of Swann said, "Through thoughtful design and careful consideration of user feedback, we are delivering an AI-driven Voice Assistant that seamlessly integrates into users' lives while providing enhanced protection and peace of mind.

"Representing an exciting step forward in the democratisation of AI for everyday consumers, the SwannShield Voice Assistant sets a new benchmark for intelligent home protection and reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.”
