Hollywood celebrities seem to be exiting the United States at a rapid rate these days — Eva Longoria, Ellen DeGeneres, and Richard Gere are just a few names that keep popping up on this list. Now, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban might join the U.S. exodus, but it’s not for the reason you think.

The 57-year-old Oscar winner is still navigating her grief after losing her mother, Janelle Kidman, in September. She’s also in the mix for award show season with her erotic thriller, Babygirl, so it’s been an overwhelming time for her. “Nicole and Keith have had their worst year ever, they’ve barely spent any time together and she’s been on her own throughout some of her most distressing times,” a source told Woman’s Day, via the Daily Mail. “The big worry on everyone’s minds is, how much more of this can she take?”

One solution for the couple is to move back to their homeland of Australia with their daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14. It would be an opportunity for them to ground themselves after an unsettling time. Kidman spoke about missing her mother at the Lioness Season 2 premiere in late October. “I wish my mama was here,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “That’d be the one thing I’d say. Everything is great with work, but I wish my mama was here. It’s a hard road. I’m hanging in there.“

Kidman and Urban are reportedly considering a move after his Las Vegas residency wraps up at the end of February. The dynamic duo has called the U.S. home for decades and splurged on real estate in Los Angeles, New York City, and Nashville, which is their main residence. They also own a farm in the countryside of Australia and two penthouses in Sydney.

While many fans assume that celebrities are leaving the U.S. solely because of Donald Trump, many other factors are coming into play for Hollywood stars. Los Angeles is no longer considered the TV and film epicenter that it once was, so the actors are moving to locations where they want to live, and often closer to hometown family and friends. They travel to the set for work in places including Georgia, the U.K., and Canada, which have become major production areas. By having filming locations with tax incentives around the globe, it has decentralized the need to live on the West Coast — that’s why it’s such an easy goodbye for some celebs.
