Nile Rodgers has let slip that he is to play the Glastonbury Festival next summer - making his announcement ahead of time.
Tickets for the 2025 festival have already sold out - as they flew off the virtual shelves earlier this month when they were released, getting snapped up in just 35 minutes. The full line-up for next year's event has not been unveiled - with Sir Rod Stewart the only star confirmed to be taking to the stage so far.
But now Chic performer Nile has claimed he is also set to take to the iconic Pyramid Stage in 2025. The 72-year-old music icon appeared to get over excited while picking up the Global Icon Award at the UK's Rolling Stone Awards in London and dropped the news he will be heading to Worthy Farm.
And Nile said that he will be taking up the Legends slot on Sunday June 29 - performing after Sir Rod rocks out. Nile, who has been churning out hits since 1977 and has produced records for stars including Madonna and David Bowie, can't wait to catch up with the Maggie May singer.

He continued: "I don’t know who’s in his current band, but we’ll probably be jamming. Regardless of what the world may think, Rod Stewart and I, we really love each other. We really are quite close." Told that his Glastonbury appearance hadn't been officially announced by the festival organisers, he said: "Am I not supposed to give that away? I always say too much." The Mirror has contacted the Glastonbury Festival press team for comment.
While collecting his Global Icon award on Thursday, Nile teased plans for a huge Chic summer 2025 tour and reflected on the beginnings of his career. He revealed on stage: "We're going to be touring together next summer, and all sorts of stuff. But the amount of UK artists I've worked with is f**king extraordinary. And let me tell you why.
"When I first started my very, my very first tour, you know, I started out with Sesame Street, but after I left Sesame Street, hey, don't laugh. Sesame Street was the s**t, trust me, I had green hair like that... it was a good job. But anyway, the very first tour I went on was Wolverhampton, Hull, Leeds and Colwyn Bay. That's the first time I ever left America and started gigging.... And honestly, I never experienced anything like the UK and music here and the musicians, they are so sophisticated."
