As tens of thousands of people fill Flemington today, social media feeds are being flooded with designer frocks, statement fascinators and smiling faces.
It's easy to get caught up in a comparison trap on social media, especially on days like Melbourne Cup as influencers post stunning photos in pricey gowns and celebrities clink champagne glasses.
Olivia Molly Rogers has a big online audience and knows all too well the comparison trap – and she says it's important for people to be mindful with what they consume on social media.
"I think you just have to be really aware of how you're feeling when you're looking at certain things online," the influencer tells 9honey at Melbourne Cup Day.

And if anyone finds themselves following someone who makes them feel insecure about themselves, Rogers has one key piece of advice.
"Try to follow people that make you feed good about yourself, and if it's not happening, even if it's me, unfollow me," she says.
"I would never want to make someone feel bad, and if that's happening, then step away and unfollow."

The former Miss Universe Australia and mental health advocate says it's important to "curate" your social media to "make it a safe space for you".
Along with being intentional with the content you consume, Rogers also says it's important to remember social media is not real life and there is so much nuance we don't always see.
"Also just keep in mind the fact that social media is such a small glimpse of someone's life, it's whatever they choose to show. And a lot of the time if there's stuff going on behind the scenes it's not always things that you can share," she says.

Rogers admits she has some "personal stuff going on" at the moment, and shared it's not her "stuff to [share]."
But she acknowledges a glimpse of her social media will make it seem like everything is perfect.
"I got to go to the Wicked premiere on the weekend, I've been at the races and there's all this great stuff, but behind the scenes it's not all glitz and glam. So, yeah, I think just keep that in mind," she says.
