One thing you should never forget - Don't ask this TV star about Scientology, like ever

Rebecca Minkoff’s inclusion on The Real Housewives of New York City has been nothing short of confusing, with the fashion designer seemingly brushing over her connection to Scientology to talk about her childhood bed and the birth control bargain she made with her parents.

RHONY’s new crop of talent, which includes the magnetic life of Brynn Whitfield, has divided opinions online as some long for the old days. Nonetheless, the women of season 15 have cemented themselves as forced to be reckoned with – especially after Brynn and Ubah Hassan’s fight.

Rebecca Minkoff – to be, or not to be a Scientologist

Scientology is perhaps one of the more mysterious religions in the world and one that has seemingly touched many parts of celebrity culture. Handmaid’s Tale actress Elisabeth Moss is a lifelong member, Tom Cruise is incredibly established in the group, and even British icons have been affected.

The religion is also wrapped in layers and layers of controversy, with new documentaries and reports frequently being released about Scientology’s alleged nefarious underbelly.

Rebecca Minkoff, who is not related to Rob Minkoff, is one of two new Housewives on the RHONY franchise. While newbie Racquel Chevremont has already situated herself front and center, including a heartbreaking bit about her relationship with her father, Rebecca seems to be actively brushing past the topic on everybody’s lips.

During a cast trip early in the season, Brynn and Jessel Taank pressed the fashion designer on her connections to Scientology. When they asked what she wanted them to say if questioned, she emphasized “no comment.”

The only major points we’ve learned about Rebecca Minkoff are her bizarre attraction to her childhood bed and the even stranger deal she made with her parents.

She earlier said: “So we like Brad. I lost my virginity at 16, because my parents had a really great deal. They said, ‘If you don’t do drugs, we’ll get you birth control pills.’ And I was like, ‘Sign me up!'”

Speaking to Page Six ahead of her RHONY debut, Rebecca Minkoff opened up about the intersection of her Scientology and Jewish faiths.

“We’re at a time and place where we can be divided and lead with hate and bigotry or we can just be tolerant of people’s beliefs,” she said. “[Scientology] has helped me personally. It’s helped me professionally. It’s helped me weather a lot of stress. That’s what I use it for. It’s a method I apply to help me with stress.”
