Outlander fans demand therapy as latest episode causes 'heart palpitations'

Outlander fans have said they need 'therapy' after watching the latest episode Written In My Heart’s Own Blood.

The intense episode had our hearts in our mouths as Claire was shot whilst attending to the wounded during the war.

In the scene, fans are not sure whether it is Jamie or Claire who has been hit with a bullet but ultimately we see blood pour from Claire's side and Jamie springs into action in a bid to save her.

In a frantic dash, Jamie lifts his beloved wife into the makeshift surgery where he's told nothing can be done to help her and fans begin to wonder if this is the end for the iconic duo.

Whilst we don't know what the future holds for Claire or whether or not she will survive, fans flocked to social media to discuss the intensity of the episode, saying they might even need medical attention.

One wrote: ""I’ve watched them suffer enough and I suffered with them. Now, who will pay my therapy?"

Another added: "this season isn’t a rollercoaster..it’s that ride that spins at like 600 mph and the floor drops from under you but in a good way!!"

While one penned: "Excellent performances!! I think I was holding my breath through the whole scene."

Another said: " @samheughan 's performance is jaw-dropping!"

One wrote: "heart palpitations!! I cannot!"

Another even said they were reduced to tears: "This made me cry and laugh!. they both done amazing on this episode!"
