A few weeks have passed now since the Outlander season seven finale and fans still are not over it.
The question of whether or not Faith lived has been hanging over all of our heads especially after that iconic scene with Claire and Fanny when they receive Jane's belongings after her tragic passing.
Amongst her things was a locket with the name 'Faith' engraved and a picture of her inside and Fanny tells Claire that was the name of her mother. Soon, cogs started to turn and viewers questioned whether or not Jamie and Claire's first daughter actually lived.
In season two, Claire gives birth to her and Jamie's first child whilst in Paris, however, the baby, named Faith, didn't live.
And now the official Outlander Instagram page has shared that poignant scene which has once again sparked a debate and got fans talking. They penned: "A beautiful coincidence, or something much more? #Outlander."
And many flocked to the comments to talk about it.
One wrote: "Still absolutely shaking from this. Weeks later."
Another said: "I was shoooooook!"
While one added: "Crying again! This scene just FLOORED me and still does! Both of these ladies are truly extraordinary."
Another wrote: "The chills I got when watching that moment. #Outlander."
While one said: "The way Claire is going through all the emotions and we are right there with her I’m still not over anything from this finale, much less these scenes about Faith."
In the books, Jane and Fanny were the daughter of a mysterious character called Faith, who died when the two girls were young.
Fanny was the younger sister of Philadelphia prostitute Jane, who had turned to the trade after her parents had died and she needed to feed her family.
Given her older sibling’s line of work, Fanny grew up in a brothel and feared she too would one day have to sell her body.
In the novel Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, the dastardly Captain Harkness (Adam Jackson-Smith) paid the brothel’s madam to take Fanny’s virginity and was in turn murdered by Jane to protect her younger sister.
Later, Jane encountered William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart), whom she asked to protect her and Fanny.
Eventually, Jane and Fanny were taken to a Quaker Settlement by Rachel Hunter (Izzy Meikle-Small), but one of Captain Harkness’ friends recognised the former prostitute.
Jane was arrested for murder with William and Jamie trying to save her after she was taken away. Sadly, she took her own life before facing punishment for murdering the soldier.
Fanny seemed to endure a kinder fate than her sister after she was taken to live on Fraser’s Ridge, where she became interested in medicine and was mentored by Claire.
She was a similar age to Germain Fraser (Robin Scott) and Jem (Blake Johnston-Miller).

Outlander’s author Gabaldon has previously ruled out Jane and Fanny’s mother Faith being the same person as Jamie and Claire’s daughter.
Therefore, in the novels it seems the two characters share the same namesake and nothing more, but it looks like the TV series could be taking a very different direction.
This wouldn’t be the first time the TV adaptation has diverged from the source material after Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Duncan Lacroix) was kept alive in the show after perishing at the Battle of Culloden in the books.
