The internet has been left in stitches by a dog who got his first taste of riches—and liked it a little too much.
Malaidh Larkin lives in Ireland and is the proud owner of cocker spaniel Bobby.
Her TikTok account, @malaidhlarkin, is filled with photos and videos of her pet, from snaps of him as a puppy to video montages of him out and about on walks through the neighborhood, beach and countryside.
A clip shared to Larkin's account on November 7 shows the dog lying on a bed with the note in his mouth, as Larkin tries to take it off him, telling him: "You can't. You can't have €20."
But he refuses to budge, keeping his jaw clamped shut as his owner tries pulling it away with the added complication of not wanting to tear the note.
The pair engage in a full-blown tug-of-war, with Larkin urging him to "drop it" and Bobby simply staring up at her, at least having the decency to look guilty, as he stubbornly clamped his jaws on the note.
"What are you trying to buy? Who do you owe that €20 to?" she asked.
Even as another woman took over and tried to get the money out, she had no luck, and the video ended with Bobby still in possession of the money.
Larkin added in a caption, however, along with the hashtag "guilty": "No €20's were harmed in the making of this video but it has sustained a minor, non-life-threatening injury in the form of a small bite mark."
TikTok users were in stitches, with the video viewed over 133,000 times. One commenter joked, "He was gonna put a depawsit on a house."
"He's tryna save it," another commented, while a viewer urged Larkin to "offer that good boy a trade" in return for the money.
And as one TikToker put it: "Dog really said 'REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH.'"
Bobby's spaniel breed is known for being affectionate towards family and being always eager to play, as described by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Originally bred for hunting, cocker spaniels have long been favored as pets. In 2023, the AKC named them the 30th most popular breed in the United States.
