PartnerRe, the Bermuda headquartered reinsurance company, has promoted insurance and reinsurance industry veteran Zino Theokli to Head of Group Retrocession.
Theokli, who brings over a decade of industry expertise towards his new role, has been with PartnerRe since 2021, when he joined the organisation as a Senior Underwriter.
Before he joined PartnerRe, Theokli spent four years working at French reinsurer SCOR, where he served as Senior Treaty Underwriter, and held responsibility for spearheading the firm’s UK Property Treaty portfolio and team.
In addition, Theokli previously spent just under four years at Amlin. He joined the firm in early 2014 as a Property and Casualty Underwriter, and then later became Corporate Property Underwriter in 2016.
Theokli started his career in the insurance and reinsurance industry with Allianz, when he joined the organisation in 2009 as a Corporate Management Trainee.
After a tenure as a Key Account Developer, Theokli eventually became a Property & Casualty Underwriter at the firm.
Addressing Theokli’s appointment, Marek Garwacki, who was recently appointed Non-Life Chief Underwriting Officer, said: “Zino’s very strong experience across various business areas, paired with his technical expertise, makes him ideally suited to lead our retrocession efforts. I’m confident he’ll bring great value and perspective to the team.”
In January, PartnerRe announced the appointment of Philippe Meyenhofer as its new CEO, as Jacques Bonneau prepares to retire later this year.
