Paul Danan is reportedly being laid to rest on Tuesday (January 21) after his tragic death last week.

The Hollyoaks star, who played Sol Patrick in the Channel 4 soap, has sadly died at the age of just 46. Police confirmed the actor was found dead at a property in Bristol last Wednesday (January 15).

Its believed Paul's funeral is due to take place today in Waltham Abbey, Essex, close to where the soap star grew up. According to The Sun, the service will be attended by his family and friends - including celebrities.

Danan, who also appeared on Celebrity Love Island, comes from a Moroccan Jewish family, so he will be buried within days of getting a death certificate. A Rabbi is expected to give a eulogy before those attending say a prayer.

Paul's death was confirmed by his management last Thursday. Independent Creative Pr, wrote in a statement on social media: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Paul Danan at just 46 years old. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many.

"His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him. During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues." The statement added: "No further comments will be made at this time."

A statement to the PA news agency from Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers attended a property in Brislington, Bristol, at around 5.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 January) where sadly a man in his 40s was declared deceased by paramedics.

"His family have been notified and our thoughts are with them. They have asked for people to respect their privacy during this incredibly difficult time. His death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are preparing a file for the coroner."

Paul was open about his struggled with substance addiction and went to rehab at least 17 times in a bid to conquer his drug problems. He tried cocaine for the first time at the age of 17 and experimented with ecstasy at just 14 years of age.

The actor also revealed he nearly died from a heroin overdose. In 2019, he appeared in an episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show, where he bravely discussed his struggles with drug addiction after getting clean.

In June last year, Paul said he nearly died after his "obsessive" vape addiction caused respiratory failure. At the time, he told The Sun: "I was dead — it's a miracle I'm here.

"I'm upstairs puffing away on my vape then suddenly I lost my breath and collapsed. My family called for an ambulance and started giving me CPR, then police arrived and took over before paramedics took me to hospital.

"I was on a machine in ICU and ended up with pneumonia. My family were warned I might not make it through the night. I'm so lucky. The doctor was so, so harsh with me. She told me, 'Paul, you don't know how serious this was and you are going to be in here for a while now, on this oxygen'."
