Tragic Paul Danan died at the age of just 46 after previously struggling to breathe and being hospitalised due to an addiction to vaping.
Now his final social media update has come to light, sharing that he was excitedly auditioning for a Shakespeare role. He revealed the news in a video post last week, telling fans: "Audition for A Twelfth Night to play Orsino.
"It's been a long time since I've gone near a bit of the Master that is Our pioneer Sir William Shakespeare. You forget what a Genius he really was and remember how beautiful and exhilarating it is when you get stuck in to tackling his work," the former Hollyoaks and Love Island star exclaimed.
"It's an amazing experience! I forget sometimes how much I need to be awoken..." Fans were treated to a delivery of some lines, demonstrating how serious he'd been about continuing to achieve in the acting world right up to his death.
That was in spite of suffering health problems due to a vaping habit. He had his celebrity friends right behind him, with Calum Best being among those to praise his recital.
Paul had previously played Sol in the Channel 4 drama Hollyoaks, before going on to participate in Love Island too and his cheeky chappie demeanour won over many hearts.
However, despite being a professionally trained actor at the prestigious Italia Conti Theatre School, at one point acting and TV work completely dried up.
He was forced to work in a phone shop at one point, mending smashed screens.
