Gladiator II new trailer starring Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal
On Monday, Paul Mescal, the 28-year-old rising star, shared his thoughts on a remarkable interaction he had with King Charles during his recent promotional trip to Los Angeles for his new film, "Gladiators."
Reflecting on the experience, he remarked, "I had never met the King before that night. It’s definitely not something I thought would be on my bingo card."
He continued with a touch of humor, mentioning his Irish background: "I’m, like, Irish, so it’s not exactly at the top of my priorities. But seeing the film celebrated in such a prestigious context was truly an amazing moment for Ridley [Scott]. I know how much this means to him."
On Wednesday, November 13, at the Odeon Lux cinema in Leicester Square, a warm and cordial exchange took place between The British Monarch and Mescal.
The actor was joined by his talented Gladiator II costars, including the charismatic Pedro Pascal and the esteemed Denzel Washington, alongside the legendary director Ridley Scott.

In an interview with Variety, Mescal remarked, “I found it somewhat challenging to fully catch what [Charles] was saying, so I ended up just nodding along and smiling.”
Gladiator II, the highly anticipated sequel, is set to hit theaters this Friday. This new chapter unfolds more than twenty years after the original cinematic masterpiece, which starred Russell Crowe.
In this film, Mescal takes on the role of Lucius Verus, the son of Crowe’s iconic character, Maximus, bringing a new generation to life in the gripping saga.
At the premiere of "Gladiator II" last week, King Charles was scheduled to make an appearance alongside Queen Camilla. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the event due to health concerns, leaving the evening to proceed without her presence.

Queen Camilla, at the age of 77, recently faced health challenges as she dealt with a chest infection, which required her to stay at home and focus on her recovery.
After a short absence, she gracefully returned to her royal responsibilities today, marking her comeback by hosting a distinguished reception for The Booker Prize Foundation at her residence, Clarence House.
During the event, Queen Camilla expressed her relief and progress, stating, “I’m obviously getting much better.” Despite still experiencing occasional coughing, her vibrant spirit shone through as she reassured attendees that she was on the mend.

Just last week, Buckingham Palace had announced that Camilla was advised to take time to rest, highlighting the support she received during her recovery process.
A statement read: “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest. With great regret, she had to withdraw from her engagements.”
