Peter Andre on how proud he is of his family

Pride of Britain is the highlight of the year for many celebrities - and it's the only showbiz event the Andre family never turns down.

Peter Andre and his wife, Emily MacDonagh, made a dazzling entrance on The Mirror's red carpet last night, joined by the Mysterious Girl singer's eldest children, Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Price. It's a given that the foursome attends every single year to celebrate the nation's unsung heroes.

The Cypriot singer, 51, was beaming with pride as he arrived at the ITV awards show with his teenage kids in tow. Speaking to The Mirror, the father-of-five gushed: "It's so important for us to come as a family and bring the kids. J and P [Junior and Princess] are adults now and they still want to come with us. Every single year. We love it."

Peter, who looked sleek in a black velvet tuxedo and bow tie, continued: "If we don't go to any other event, it doesn't matter. This is the only event we want to go to because of what it stands for. When you come here and hear the stories, it's just so inspirational. And every year gets bigger and better. You never think you can top it."

Emily, who shares three young children with Peter, turned heads in a plunging off-the-shoulder ballgown, while Princess shone in a black and white strapless dress, and Junior wore a grey suit and smart black turtleneck. Looking at his children, Peter beamed: "It's hard for us [him and Emily] to compete with them. We've bought a bit of sparkle."

Ever the proud dad, he then said: "I am so proud to be able to be here with my family." Princess, who was the spitting image of her mother, Katie, at a young age, with a curly updo, chimed in: "I love it every single year. I am so excited to be here. I love meeting everyone and hearing their stories." To which her dad Peter interrupted and gushed: "You are so sweet."

Hinting at their future plans, Peter shared that he's off to start filming for a Channel 5 drama, which he called "amazing". He said: "I am off tomorrow very, very early to start filming. I can't wait to share more about it." While mother-of-three Emily chimed in and jibed: "And I'm off on the school run... so that's really exciting," adding: "I'm joking - I love it."

It comes after Peter opened up about his plans to renew his wedding vows with wife Emily. The British-Australian singer tied the knot to the NHS doctor, 35, at Mamhead House and Castle, Devon, in July 2015. And as they prepare to mark 10 years of marriage next year, Peter revealed to OK! magazine how they might celebrate the milestone.

Writing in his weekly New Magazine column, he discussed Jamie Oliver's Maldives vow renewal with wife Jools last year. The TV chef recently confessed he was "embarrassed" by the elaborate occasion, calling it a "posh holiday". Peter admitted that the star's comments got him thinking about his own plans.

He said: "Jamie Oliver recently opened up about his vow renewal to wife Jools - which took place last year in the Maldives - and admitted that moments before the ceremony he was a bit unsure about it. It got me thinking as Emily and I have never really talked about renewing our vows."

He added: "It's our 10-year anniversary next year, and we love to celebrate each milestone, but another wedding is something we've never considered. Maybe something to keep in mind…"
