Phillies Asked For AL All-Star Pitcher in Exchange for Alec Bohm: Report

7 hours ago 3

The Philadelphia Phillies have been discussing a possible trade with the Seattle Mariners centering on third baseman Alec Bohm. According to a new report in the Seattle Times on Wednesday, we know their asking price for Bohm — who made his first National League All-Star team in 2024 — is rather high.

Citing sources with knowledge of the Mariners' trade talks, Adam Jude reported that the Phillies asked for one of the Mariners' two All-Star starting pitchers, George Kirby or Logan Gilbert, in exchange for Bohm.

Bohm, 28, appeals to the Mariners because he has two more years of club control before he's eligible for free agency and made an affordable $4 million in 2024 after taking the Phillies to arbitration and winning.

The Phillies got a 3-WAR season from Bohm for their troubles. He hit .280 with a .332 on-base percentage and .448 slugging percentage in 143 games, hitting 15 home runs and driving in 97 for the second straight year.
