The Pistons currently hold a record of 21-19 on the year, sitting in seventh place within the Eastern Conference standings. Detroit has become known as a gritty team this season that doesn't back down from anyone.

But in order to make the postseason, the Pistons may need some extra help. In this new trade scenario, Detroit makes a move to bring more talent in for their potential playoff push.

After looking over the new CBA restrictions and using the Spotrac trade machine to entire accuracy, here is what a deal could look like. It would be between the Pistons and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Pistons receive: Brandon Ingram

Pelicans receive: Ausar Thompson, Tim Hardaway Jr., and a 2028 first-round draft pick

Detroit lands a star in Ingram to pair alongside Cade Cunningham, giving them more credibility on the floor. Ingram is scheduled to be a free agent at the end of the season but Detroit could elect to sign him to an extension for the long haul.

Putting Ingram in Detroit would help both the offensive end of the floor and defense for this team. Ingram uses his length to change the shot attempts of players that he guards and Detroit could use someone like him.

While losing Thompson could hurt, landing an All-Star-level talent in Ingram could be worth it. Detroit has been trying to get themselves back to a place of contention for years and they finally would become more formidable with this deal.

On the season, Ingram has averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game over 18 games. The veteran is also shooting 37.4 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Ingram has missed a fair share of games this year due to injury which is why Detroit would land him on the cheap here. New Orleans has made it clear that they want to move him so the Pistons take advantage of the opportunity.

This is a move that Detroit could certainly look into and one that could help them see their five-year playoff drought come to an end.
