PK Kemsley described Dorit Kemsley‘s “enormous change” since joining the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

During an episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, PK detailed how Dorit’s “dramatic” personal change affected their marriage.

The evolution of Dorit:

“Dorit changed so dramatically from who she was before she went on the show to who she is now.” According to PK, he and Dorit “have spoken about being a public figure … going from anonymity to being this.”

“But from my perspective, somewhere along the line, the entire narrative and the entire reality of who we were, who did what, completely changed.”

“Suddenly, I’m watching my wife be someone that is a different person to the person that I met and married and fell in love with. Now, you could argue I’ve changed …”

“I believe, this I’m gonna be really honest; I actually don’t believe I’ve changed at all. I think that I’ve stayed fairly grounded and most of my friends and family will say he’s not changed the slightest bit. Dorit’s change is enormous.”

When asked if he thinks Dorit would be the person she is today if she had never joined RHOBH, PK was inconclusive. “That’s the question. And there’s no way of answering that, because you don’t know who Dorit would have become.”

“Dorit being who Dorit is, she always had that underlying personality. You know, whatever her issues are, be it control or whatever, they always existed.”

Re: Dorit’s claims of PK’s ‘alcoholism’

PK was “shocked, disappointed, and upset” after his estranged wife called him an alcoholic repeatedly on RHOBH. “First of all, I’m really proud and public about my sobriety. I’m 12 months in two weeks.” PK noted that he’s had a “very emotional, tough journey” to get sober. So, it surprised him that Dorit used that as a talking point on RHOBH.

Despite not liking Dorit labeling him an “alcoholic” on an international television show, he confessed his drinking did have “an element of responsibility in relation to the breakdown of our marriage.” PK said it was “just a component” of their problems, not the only cause.

“If you understand the disease, alcoholism is a symptom. It’s not a cause. So, the reality is you have to get to what the cause was underneath. It’s just not as simple as to say, ‘He was a fully blown alcoholic. That’s why we’re separated.’”
