Despite sounding like an elaborate scam, people have been praising this British Airways flight that essentially takes off and lands at the same destination 40 minutes later.
Getting cheap plane tickets when you plan to travel is always a great feeling.
Sometimes, travelling just about anywhere in the world can cost an arm and a leg, but for $2,400, you would hope you are flying somewhere in comfort to a far and distant land, right?
Well, not exactly.

With this particular flight, the goal is to get you up in the air for 40 minutes and land exactly where you took off...so, what's the catch?
It is true what they say; it's the journey, not the destination that is important here.
Because the journey is to help passengers with anxiety when it comes to flying.
British Airways has a course encouragingly called ‘flying with confidence’ to help those who have a fear of flying.
A TikTok video posted on the Thepointsguy page seemed to promote the course and broke down what people could expect for all that money they would spend.
“You should join this flight to nowhere. It will return to its destination after just 40 minutes for a very good reason.
“Welcome to British Airways flying with confidence course.”
The TikToker claimed that the course had already helped 50,000 people overcome their fear of flying.
The user, known as Thepointsguy, continued: “The course is held regularly in the United Kingdom and starts at an airport hotel comfort space with a presentation by senior British Airways pilots.
“[The pilots explain] how safely planes fly, how pilots operate them and the rigorous selection and regular training pilots must undertake to take to the skies.
“After a heart hot lunch, a clinical psychologist explains how fears of flying develop and can be managed.
“This is followed by a guided meditation and relaxation exercise to soothe course attendees into a deep calm.”
Then the attendees are helped in facing their fear of flying, being escorted in small groups to a BA plane.
Multiple staff members are on hand during the boarding to help the course members get through the experience comfortably and safely.

They follow this up by explaining what all the beeps, bumps, and bells are hoping to make the flyers even more comfortable.
While a couple grand might help with a person’s anxiety around flying, it is still a pretty penny to give up.
The course also offers cheaper alternatives to the full course experience, all with the goal of helping a person’s anxiety.
A cheaper version of the course, entitled the ‘primary course’, is also available for just over $500.
While some people on social media have been hesitant due to the cost of the course, those who have said it helped them immensely with their own flying fears.
So, might be a decent trade off.
