Plaqueboymax on Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign Smoking: 'Respect My Sh*t'

For Plaqueboymax, the recent (and somehow still going strong) smoking incident and related non-controversy comes down to one thing: respect.

As previously reported, Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign seemingly left the stream in question early after being urged numerous times to honor the streamer’s request to not smoke inside. This was due to concerns about the Airbnb’s fire alarms going off, something Max himself had experienced when smoking on his own. In a video (see above) dated Jan. 7, Max gave his assessment of the situation and how it has continued to play out on social media.

Both Tjay and Fivio, Max noted, were not originally expected to make an appearance on his stream that particular day. Fivio arrived first, he added, before Tjay later showed up without warning.

“Not to my knowledge because nobody told me this, Tjay pulls up with some of his bros,” Max said. “I did not know he was pulling up. I did not invite him to pull up. I guess Fivio told him to come. … But as long as it’s good vibes, it’s cool. N***as then proceed to start smoking in the Bnb. As I’ve known since the first day I had guests, you can not smoke in this shit. I smoked in the Bnb and the fire alarm went off for three fucking hours and it wouldn’t come off. If these fire alarms go off, this stream is over, which I explained to them.”

Regardless of the reason for his request for no indoor smoking, Max added, the request should be honored out of “respect” for him.

“If I ask you not to smoke in my crib, it’s a respect thing,” he said. “I have respect for y’all, please have respect for me. Otherwise, I don’t wanna do business with you. Because y’all not my friends. I don’t know y’all. Have respect.”

While Max says that he tried to be accommodating during the stream, at one point offering his backyard as a potential place to smoke instead, he was confused by a comparison he says someone made between streaming and smoking. In short, someone (who, exactly, wasn’t specified) said that asking someone not to smoke was akin to asking Max not to stream.

“What, n***a? Smoking’s your job?” Max, who also made it clear he himself has “no bad blood” over how things went down, said. He also drove home the point of respect, like so: “It is what it is, but at the same time, gang, just respect my shit please. It’s as simple as that.”

Later, Max reacted to an apparent diss aimed at him in connection with the smokeless stream incident. He also broached the topic of a potential In the Booth entry with Tjay.

Max is currently fresh off the release of a special GOAT Talk episode with FaZe Banks, recorded live at ComplexCon. The release capped off a major year for the 21-year-old star, no doubt making 2024 a pivotal one in his larger trajectory. That same year, he came in at No. 10 on Complex's ranking of the best streamers.
