Polo G has reportedly been hit with another gun charge.
According to TMZ, the Chicago rapper has been in jail since Saturday after he was pulled over for speeding in the San Fernando Valley. Police claim that upon searching his car, they discovered a loaded gun in his vehicle.
He was subsequently arrested and booked for felony possession of a concealed weapon and remains in custody.
In August, Polo dropped off his latest album, Hood Poet. “Music, especially today, is more of ‘What have you done for me lately?’ kind of thing,” he told Complex following its release.
“You have to be in these people’s faces and always have to remind them. With so much time that has gone by, I feel like for the people who forgot or for the people who think I’m not who I once was, it’s time to show them what I’m really about.” Hood Poet was his first album in three years, since 2021's Hall of Fame.
The 25-year-old recently announced The Hood Poet Tour, which is set to kick off on Oct. 24 in Denver with stops in Chicago, New York, Houston, and San Francisco, before wrapping on Nov. 29 in Los Angeles. It’s unclear whether his arrest will impact the tour.
This isn’t his first gun charge this year. In April, he was arrested on criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a loaded firearm charges after a maid allegedly found a loaded firearm that he left behind in his New York City hotel room.
Prior to that, in 2023, he was arrested twice in less than 24 hours on assault, robbery, and kidnapping charges, alongside his brother, Trench Baby. In 2021, Polo was also arrested when authorities discovered a concealed firearm on him.
