Life comes at you fast. Earlier this month, Simon Guobadia was ranting on Instagram about Porsha Williams, promising to expose her as a “real fraudster” of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. This week, he’s sitting in a detention center after being taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE.
Unfortunately, this isn’t his first time in this situation. The Nigerian-born entrepreneur has been embroiled in immigration issues since he first arrived in the United States in the 1980s. He was deported in the past, but he made his way back into the country. With a new presidential administration promising to crack down on illegal immigration, could this be the final straw for Simon?
Simon remains in ICE custody

According to a report from Us Weekly, he has been taken into custody by ICE. The circumstances of Simon’s arrest are still unclear, but the outlet confirmed that he is being held at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.
We first learned about Simon’s complicated immigration status in February 2024. At the time, court documents revealed how he was busted in the 1980s for trying to gain citizenship through a sham marriage. Years later, he allegedly obtained a green card in the United States using a fake identity.
Simon’s immigration status remained in limbo. Coincidentally Porsha filed for divorce just days after all of this information became public. Since then, he’s been spending his time in court fighting with Porsha. For example, he sued her in November 2024, claiming she made defamatory remarks about him by posting about erectile dysfunction on social media. Maybe he should have been more focused on finding an immigration lawyer.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta returns on Sunday, March 9 at 8/7c.
