Here’s What Reportedly Happened To Marjorie Jane Hible

According to Northern News Now, Hible was a resident at Boundary Waters Care Facility. On Monday, January 6, emergency personnel were reportedly dispatched to the area around 4:38 p.m. Per the outlet, a witness had reported a fire at the location.

Furthermore, the report noted that Hible’s motorized scooter “went up in flames” while she was seated outside the facility. Hible was reportedly “fully engulfed” before staff members could get her off the scooters.

According to the outlet, Hible sustained severe burns from the incident. Additionally, she was transported to Ely Hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in Duluth, where she passed away.

Northern News Now adds that the state fire marshal is continuing to investigate the fatal incident. However, preliminary reports appear to suggest that “smoking likely caused this accidental fire.”

Lastly, the outlet notes that outside of Hible, a staff member of the Boundary Waters Care Facility also sustained injuries. However, their case was non-life threatening, and they were ultimately released from the hospital.

A Lawsuit Has Been Filed Regarding A Shocking Incident Involving Another 80-Year-Old Woman

As The Shade Room previously reported, in December, the death of another 80-year-old woman made headlines. At the time, a lawsuit had reportedly been filed against Sleep Number and its manufacturer for the death of Rosalind Walker.

Walker had reportedly become trapped in her Sleep Number bed for two days after it “lowered itself without warning.”
