“The world’s greatest mind is now the most wanted,” teases Apple TV+ in the official trailer for its new series Prime Target starring One Day star Leo Woodall.
In the trailer for the conspiracy thriller released Monday, Woodall stars as an intelligent math postgraduate Edward Brook, who discovers a breakthrough in possibly finding a pattern in prime numbers. Should he succeed, Edward would hold the key to every computer in the world. When his idea catches the attention of dangerous enemies, they move to destroy the idea before it progresses further. NSA agent Taylah Sanders (played by Quintessa Swindell) has been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians’ behavior, but then the two join forces to unravel the government conspiracy Edward has unexpectedly found himself at the center of.
Woodall’s breakout role was in The White Lotus, which won a SAG award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. He went on to star in One Day alongside Ambika Mod. Swindell starred in Black Adam and In Treatment.
The eight-episode series was created by award-winning writer Steve Thompson, who also serves as executive producer.
Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee and Joseph Mydell also star in the series alongside Woodall and Swindell.
Ed Rubin serves as executive producer for New Regency alongside Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan and Michael Schaefer; Marina Brackenbury is an executive producer for Scott Free Productions along with David W. Zucker and Scott. Laura Hastings-Smith serves as executive producer alongside writer and director Brady Hood, who directed all eight episodes.
Prime Target premieres globally on Apple TV+ on Jan. 22, with the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly every Wednesday through March 5.
