Prince William just shaded Meghan Markle big time!
The Prince of Wales has been in Cape Town, South Africa for his Earthshot Prize Awards. During the trip on Thursday, he met with fishermen in Kalk Bay Harbour, where he was given a jar of sour fig jam — and the exchange was caught by official photographers. According to sources via The Daily Beast, this was no accident!

A former courtier, who worked with William at the palace, told the outlet that the photo was lightly a dig at Prince Harry‘s wife, dishing:
“Nothing happens by accident when it comes to royal photos. It looks very much like he is trolling her.”
Another key clue? The source noted that items presented to the royal family usually have to be pre-approved and screened by royal aides for their protection and to avoid any possible controversies. So, the fact William accepted the gift so happily in front of the media says a lot. See (below):

Per DailyMail.com, the local, Sarah Niemond, told the 42-year-old that a jar of her jam had previously been taken to Buckingham Palace, explaining:
“Seven years ago someone from your country bought this South African jam and they bought it and took it back to England and they gave it to your grandmother.”
Cool!
Of course, this seems to be a dig at Meghan since back in April she soft launched a strawberry jam via her upcoming lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. She’s yet to officially launch the product but the jam has gotten lots of praise from the celebs she sent some to. On the flip side, she’s also helped boost King Charles III‘s jam sales with fans flocking to purchase his Highgrove products last spring. Guess this is William’s subtle way of getting back at the Sussexes! The feud lives on. LOLz!
