Priscilla Presley rushed to court to fight her one-time lawyer from escaping her bombshell financial elder abuse lawsuit, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Priscilla, 79, asked a judge to deny her former attorney Lynn Walker Wright’s plea to be dismissed from the case due to her not living in or having ties to California.
Priscilla filed suit against her former business associate, Brigitte Kruse, a man named Kevin Fialko and Lynn. Priscilla claimed that Brigitte and Kevin introduced her to Lynn.
In a newly-filed declaration, Priscilla told the court, “though they hid it from me at the time, I now know that [Brigitte] and [Kevin] engaged in an extensive, far-reaching campaign to isolate me from, and cause me to distrust, my own long-time advisors, to the point where they were able to convince me to replace my advisors with ones hand-picked by them. This was an essential part of their campaign to control and direct my finances for their own benefit.”
Priscilla said she met Lynn in December 2022 after Brigitte said Lynn should be her lawyer.
Elvis’ ex entered into a deal with Lynn and said she later learned that Lynn also represented Brigitte.
In her declaration, Priscilla said weeks after hiring Lynn, in January 2023, the defendants arranged for her to travel to Florida to attend an auction of Elvis items.
She said she was told that she would meet Lynn during the trip to “sign some paperwork.” Priscilla said she was never given any paperwork to review in advance.
She said at the meeting, which was held at Brigitte’s house and not Lynn’s office, Priscilla said she was “completely isolated from my other advisors.”
She said that she was not permitted to have anyone in the room other than Brigitte. Priscilla said Lynn did not advise her of the risks of her also representing Brigitte.
“For no legitimate reason, this meeting was videotaped by [Lynn], who I understand subsequently provided a copy of the video to [Brigitte] and [Kevin].”
Priscilla also argued that most of the work Lynn did for her took place in California. She said Lynn should be shut down in her attempt to be dismissed from the case seeking $1 million in damages.
As In Touch previously reported, in the lawsuit, Priscilla claims Brigitte and others took advantage of her. Elvis’ former wife called Brigitte a “con artist and pathological liar.”
Priscilla explained that she met Brigitte in 2021 when Brigitte was selling Elvis memorabilia. Priscilla claimed that she developed a friendship with Brigitte. However, she said Brigitte slowly took control of her life and finances.
Priscilla said Brigitte had her sign various agreements that paid her 80 percent of her income on deals.
Priscilla’s lawyer wrote, “This action arises out of a meticulously planned and abhorrent scheme by the defendants in this action to prey on an older woman by gaining her trust, isolating her from the most important people in her life, and duping her into believing that they would take care of her (personally and financially), while their real goal was to drain her of every last penny she had.”
The attorney added, “In just two short years, the Defendants established a personal relationship with [Priscilla] that enabled them to gain her complete trust and isolate her from her long-time business and financial advisors. They convinced [Priscilla] that all of her former advisors were either deceitful or incompetent, and that she was leaving millions of dollars on the table as the result of their mismanagement.”
Priscilla claimed Brigitte and the other defendants had funds that were owed to her were deposited in bank accounts controlled by the defendants.
On top of that, she claimed they mismanaged deals and took money from her son’s bank account without any legitimate reason.
A lawyer for Brigitte and her codefendant Kevin Fialko told TMZ about Priscilla’s lawsuit, “The suit filed is a retaliatory lawsuit due to the one filed by Priscilla’s business partners last year. We are confident that the facts will speak for themselves and justice will prevail.”
The lawyer continued, “It saddens all of us who dropped our lives to provide aid to a woman who needed help and she is now attempting to use her celebrity status to ruin the lives of kind, hardworking people. Thank you to all of our supporters who have stood by us during this difficult time. We will continue to focus on our business and look forward to our day in court. The truth will come out by way of evidence and not rumors. There will be no further comment at this time as we respect the judicial process.”
Months before Priscilla’s lawsuit, Brigitte filed her own suit against Priscilla in Florida court for breach of contract.
