Prosecutors accuse Sean 'Diddy' Combs of using his children to manipulate jury in his case

Prosecutors are accusing Sean 'Diddy' Combs of trying to influence potential jury members ahead of his federal criminal case.

The claims come after the rapper celebrated his 55th birthday, with prosecutors claiming Diddy is involving his family members in order to execute a reframing of his image.

One of accusations focuses on a recent Instagram video posted by Diddy's children on their social media account, which they claim was done at his direction.

"At the defendant's carefully curated direction, the defendant's children posted a video to their respective social media accounts showing the defendant's children gathered to celebrate the defendant's birthday," the court filing states.

"This kind of interference with a fair trial, the defendant's own words make clear that his intent is to improperly influence the jury pool in this criminal proceeding."

Diddy accused of other violations

They also claim that Diddy has repeatedly communicated with others in ways that violate the prison's regulations.

They say that while at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, he has used the telephone accounts of "at least eight other inmates" in an apparent effort to avoid prosecutors hearing his calls with people who are not on his approved contact list.

It's also claimed that Combs has paid off other inmates in order to use their accounts via payment processing apps and commissary account deposits.

Prosecutors claim that he has also instructed the person on the other line, including family members and attorneys, to add others via a three-way call.

"This practice is also not authorized by BOP [Federal Bureau of Prisons] as it helps conceal the identities of the contacted individuals," the court documents state.

"The defendant's repeated circumvention of BOP regulations-starting almost immediately after arriving at MDC-speaks volumes about his ability to comply with any conditions of release."
