Queer Eye is officially back on Netflix with a brand new season, bringing us the makeovers we ALL love to see, from the father of the bride to hunter Jodie’s self-care transformation.
Across nine seasons, every makeover on Queer Eye has been pretty outstanding. However, there’s a few heroes that stand out more than others, as a result of the Fab Five working their magic wands.
Tom Jackson – Season 1
Sadly, Tom Jackson has passed away since filming Queer Eye season 1. In March 2023, he died after a battle with metastatic adenocarcinoma at the age of 63, leaving a huge legacy behind.
In his episode, the Fab Five help him reconcile with his ex-wife, Abby. They married for a second time months after filming, but got divorced in 2019, despite giving him one of the craziest makeovers.
He kept saying, “You can’t fix ugly,” but despite his self-doubts, the Fab Five helped him work on his confidence and gave him a new fashion glow-up through his outfits and hair.

Jody Castellucci – Season 3
Jody is a hunter who wanted to invest in her self-care. She hadn’t really bothered to worry about how she looked, but had a calling to start dressing in heels and dresses, instead of her usual camo outfits.
She’s now “loving herself again” after working with the Fab Five, and already misses Bobby Berk. When she joined the show in 2019, she worked at a men’s federal prison, USP Leavenworth.
They took her from hunter to ‘huntee’ because, “as confident as she is on the outside, she doesn’t feel this way on the inside.” The mom-of-three didn’t just have them transform her own look, but her entire home!
She’s kept up a more feminine wardrobe (for special events) and has maintained her more cool-toned hair color. Jody also celebrated her youngest daughter tying the knot.
Kevin Abernathy – Season 5
Father of the bride, Kevin Abernathy, got a new smile and learned how to dance for his daughter’s wedding. Due to complications from diabetes, Abernethy had to have his right leg amputated.
He was nominated by his daughter Hayley after he stopped enjoying his life post-divorce. Despite losing nearly a hundred pounds, Kevin was lacking in confidence, but turned it around in time for the wedding.
The Fab Five transformed his kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom, moving out memories of his past marriage and gaining a newfound confidence throughout his personal look and home space.
Jen’ya Reynolds – Season 9
Jen’ya is a case manager who assists both men and women in their recovery from drug addiction and homelessness. Her daughter Kemora, saw how hard her mother worked to provide her with a better life.
She invited the Fab Five to help revamp Jen’ya’s life, who is now on a weight loss journey. She was struggling after her husband suddenly decided to leave her and their daughter Kemora.
This resulted in her losing everything, including their home and her job. Jen’ya’s hair went from braided to silky-smooth black, while her everyday look went from natural to a face full of glam.
Bobby Camp – Season 1
Jonathan Van Ness gave Bobby a transformational haircut, which he has lasted to this day. His kids have continued to use their grooming kits and, in early 2018, the family moved out of their home.
Following his glow-up, they left the home that design expert Bobby Berk renovated, upgrading to a place with three bedrooms. But Bobby’s transformation was genuinely one of the wildest on the show.
He didn’t have much time for himself during filming, as he and his wife Vera had six children to look after, alongside working two jobs and going to church regularly – but he seems happier than ever!
