Leave it to Randy Rainbow to let viewers pine for the late Olivia Newton-John and fear the possibility of a second Donald Trump presidency at the same time. (Watch the video below.)
On Tuesday, the comedian shared perhaps his last political music parody before Tuesday’s election ― and he killed it with “MAGADU.”
He tweaked the song “Xanadu” made famous by Newton-John.
Donning a blond wig a la the Australian pop star, Rainbow sings of a setting that’s far from the nightclub of the 1980 cult classic movie:
A place/ where nobody wants to go/ a country so lame and low/ they call it MAGADU
It’s lame AF and takes you back in time
But if you vote for this bag o’ dicks/ as soon as November Six/ We’ll be in MAGADU
Where lies are facts and nothing’s true
A million rights dismantled and there you are with Roseanne Barr/ A dark dystopia of absurdist extremes to kill your dreams/ MAGADU, MAGADU, MAGADU.
Fast forward to 2:00 to catch the tail end of Rainbow’s traditional fake interview with Trump and then bop away to “MAGADU”:
And if you’re missing the luminous Newton-John, who died in 2022, here’s a “Xanadu” throwback.
