Regina Hall discusses potentially reprising her role as Brenda in the Scary Movie franchise as the film series is set for a reboot.

Speaking with TV Insider, the 53-year-old shared her thoughts on the satirical thrillers making a comeback.

“Anna [Faris] is great,” she detailed to the outlet after being informed that earlier this year her costar elaborated that she would only return with her scene partner.

Hall continued, “I’m just very excited to know that the Wayans, who actually started the project out of their idea, are back on board and at the helm again. I’m excited for them. We’ll see if Brenda is in this new world. I’m thrilled at the possibility that the band could get back together again. That would be fun.”

Faris spoke to an April 2024 announcement from Paramount of plans to work with producer Neal H. Moritz to reboot the comedic horror franchise. At the time, production was set for later this fall with a goal of a theatrical debut next spring through the studio’s first-look partnership with Miramax.

It was not until last month that Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans confirmed their participation in the revival. Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the first Scary Movie film released in 2000, co-written by his aforementioned brothers. The project is now scheduled to shoot in 2025, with a release through Miramax and Paramount.

“Last week, I said I had a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT to make. Well, here it is… WE’RE BACK!!! After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for…a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise! We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again,” wrote Marlon on Instagram.
