Renée Zellweger Shares a Fleeting Glimpse Into Life With Ant Anstead & His Son

Renée Zellweger offered up the tiniest tidbit of information about her very private life with boyfriend Ant Anstead and his son.

Since they started dating in 2021, Zellweger has kept their cards close to their chest when it comes to her relationship with the British TV host. Though Anstead isn’t shy about posting a PDA-filled photo with the Oscar-winner on his Instagram, Zellweger has only shared brief insights into her romance, including a rare comment in her British Vogue cover story on Jan. 15.

When asked about where she lives by her cover story interviewer and Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy co-star Hugh Grant, Zellweger said, “I live in Southern California, near San Diego. Because that’s where my fellow lives, and his little boy.”

Anstead is a father to 5-year-old son Hudson with ex-wife Christina Haack. Anstead, who is the host of Wheeler Dealers, is perhaps best known for his time appearing on Haack’s HGTV show Christina on the Coast. The couple were married from 2018 until their 2020 separation. Anstead also has young adult children, a daughter named Ameliea and a son named Archie from his first marriage.

Zellweger and Anstead met in June 2021 when she appeared on his show Celebrity IOU: Joyride, eight months after he split from Haack.

Over the years, Anstead has shared some sweet moments on Instagram that show off the actress’s relationship with his kids.

Anstead and Zellweger were photographed spending quality time with Hudson in July 2021, just a month into dating. In July 2022, Anstead posted an Instagram story of Hudson’s artwork with the caption, “He ‘made this for NayNay,'” seemingly referencing his girlfriend. In July 2023, Anstead shared first photos of Zellweger with his older children.

In April of that same year, People confirmed that the couple “found a house that they both love and are moving in together.” The source added, “They are very happy and in love. They have tried to keep their relationship private and low-key because of Hudson.”

Haack has praised Zellweger and her bond with her and Anstead’s son. “It’s not like Heather and I, where we spend a lot of time together,” Haack told Us Weekly, referencing her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa’s wife. “It’s mostly just on the soccer field or at drop-off, but [Renée is] super nice. She loves Hudson, and Hudson loves her. And she and Ant are happy.”
