Whether you want to call it fired or put “on pause,” Nicole Young’s future on Selling Sunset doesn’t look too good. The word on the street is that Netflix has put her on ice following an explosive fight with Chrishell Stause. The worst thing about all of this? The cameras were supposedly rolling when they broke the news to Nicole.

Photo Credit: Todd Williamson/NBCThe drama with Nicole started in Season 6 when she made comments about Chrishell’s romantic relationship with Jason Oppenheim. In Season 8, she accused Emma Herman of having an affair with a married man. Obviously, none of that went over well.
After a full season of feuding, Chrishell threatened to quit the show and called out production for allowing her messy storylines to unfold. Netflix wound up canceling the Season 8 reunion, but apparently, that cooling-off period didn’t help.
Per a report from TMZ, the entire cast got together for a filmed dinner in November. Everything was going smoothly until Emma and Chrishell showed up. That’s when all hell broke loose, resulting in what the outlet called an “explosive incident.”
A few days later, Nicole was invited for a one-on-one sitdown with Jason. During that conversation, he suggested that she take a step back from the office. Cameras rolled the whole time.
Nicole hasn’t filmed since that conversation, which she confirmed to Us Weekly. She claims that production was trying to “protect her” from the escalating drama. According to her, she hasn’t been fired, but she’s weighing her options for her next steps.
“I had a call with production two days ago during which they told me I have absolutely not been fired from the cast but they chose to pause my filming schedule until next week in order to protect me from situations on set that had become very contentious,” Nicole claimed.
She continued, “I’m still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards.”
