The Vanderpump Rules cast was reportedly kept in the dark about production’s plan to reboot the series ahead of season 12 with an all-new cast until just before Bravo’s announcement on Tuesday.

Following the confirmation of the season 11 cast’s firing, and as Ariana Madix, 39, and Katie Maloney offered their reactions on social media, an insider came forward, claiming that the longtime members of the series had no idea they were about to lose their jobs.

“The cast members were left in the dark for months about the plans for season 12,” an insider told In Touch Weekly on November 26.

According to the report, producers did not inform the cast of their plan to reboot the show until Monday night, hours before the announcement was made public in the form of a press release.

Lisa Vanderpump, 64, “and a new group of close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors” will be starring in season 12. The OGs of the show will “celebrate the past decade of heartbreaks, friendship rifts and scandals with a retrospective special highlighting the past 11 seasons,” the announcement revealed.

“Under Lisa Vanderpump’s watchful eye, the West Hollywood mainstay SUR – and now TomTom – welcomes the next batch of servers, hosts and bartenders rife with plenty of drama, situationships and frenemies,” the press release continued.

Hours after viewers were informed of the fate of Pump Rules, Ariana took to her Instagram page with a lengthy message.

Vanderpump Rules, you will forever be that girl … I was up til 4 am looking for all the right pics and the right words, but there’s no post or caption that could ever encapsulate everything,” she wrote. “I am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon. Thank you [Bravo TV], [Lisa Vanderpump], [Evolution Media] for every experience over the last 10+ years.
Thank you to every single crew member, producer, and our showrunners. Seeing you guys every summer was like coming home to see family! That I will miss very much.”

Ariana also thanked her fans.

“You’ve been the constant over the last decade your love and support is what I’ll miss the most about it ending. You made this show what it is,” she admitted. “To the fans who have shown up for us, old and new, it’s all because of you that we are here.”

In closing, Ariana said she was “at peace” with the end of her run on Pump Rules and “excited” for all that is to come.

“I don’t know that these were the best days of our lives, but they were definitely something special,” she added.

On Katie’s Instagram Story, she reflected on her 11 seasons with the show as she shared a throwback photo of herself in a SUR uniform.

“It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years,” she captioned the pic.
