Kyle Richards called out Dorit Kemsley for failing to have Teddi Mellencamp‘s back at BravoCon after a fan suggested Kyle was “forcing” her on their friend group following Tuesday’s new episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
After the latest episode featured a heated argument between Kyle, 55, and Dorit, 48, Kyle took aim at Dorit’s character as Dorit defended herself against her former friend, accusing Kyle of “grasping at straws” and playing the victim amid their feud.
“For me, it was extremely frustrating that she just will not take accountability for anything, ever, and I just wanted her to acknowledge something,” Kyle began on the December 3 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “That says a lot about her character, that she did not want to defend Teddi at all, who, we know that they’re friends.”
“I still consider her a close friend of mine, but like I said, you put yourself in that category of not being that close of a friend of mine by saying and doing those things,” she continued.
Looking back on their argument, Kyle admitted to feeling as if the discussion was going nowhere as she revealed she was running out of patience with her castmate.
“I know what she’s going through,” Kyle noted of Dorit’s separation from Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57. “[But] then I’m like, ‘You know what? Now you’re just another problem for me in my life I don’t need.’”
Speaking of the fan’s diss against Teddi, 43, at BravoCon in her own After Show segment, Dorit said, “I thought that [Kyle] was grasping at straws.”
“Her being mad at me because I didn’t stick up for a friend, mostly of hers, just felt like a big stretch,” she stated. “It’s not to say that she can’t have those feelings. I understand. But we had reached a point in our friendship where I was on the outside. She had not spoken to me. There was very clearly, you know, a big reason.”
“We were good friends, and how do you go from that to being totally isolated and then say that the reason is that I didn’t stick up for Teddi on a stage where I didn’t want to give any life to some troll?” she added.
According to Dorit, Kyle has a way of “turning things around” and has made a habit of either being “very aggressive” or “[playing] the victim.”
“I think she just thought one of those [would] to get me to back down, sweep it under the rug, [and] move on, [but] I still, I have these feelings. They’re very real. And until you recognize that they’re real, we’re not going anywhere,” she declared. “You’ve made me feel like, ‘Is this friendship even worth fighting for, let alone being walked all over for?'”
Bozoma Saint John, 47, agreed with Dorit that Kyle was either going to make Dorit “feel sorry” for her or “stab [her] back.”
“She did both,” Dorit replied.
Meanwhile, Erika Jayne, 53, said that while she initially felt that Kyle was “reaching” when it came to her annoyance with Dorit’s refusal to defend Teddi, she later learned that more had gone down behind the scenes.
“When I found out what [Kyle] said about her saying things outside, then I was like, ‘Oh that’s why you’re mad,’ and that to me was too much for you,” she shared.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
