Ramona Singer is under fire for a video shared on her Instagram Story on Friday morning.
As officials confirmed that at least 10 people had lost their lives and more than 10,000 homes and businesses had been destroyed by the Los Angeles wildfires, the 68-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum showed off her view from Florida, saying she was “so happy” as she gave a nod to the massive devastation taking place in California.
“A beautiful day to wake up to … unfortunately people in Cali have no idea what their day will bring,” Ramona wrote in the caption of her January 10 video, which showcased the former reality star on the balcony of a waterfront home.
“What a beautiful morning in Florida, what a way to wake up. Look at this view, mm, so happy,” Ramona declared in her video as she flipped the camera to showcase her view of the Atlantic Ocean. “[It’s] bright and sunny. [I’m] gonna do some work, play some tennis. Beautiful day.”
Needless to say, fans didn’t take too kindly to the post.
“Ramona Singer and Jennifer Aydin should host a podcast together on how to be awful effortlessly,” Kiki Monique, the host of Radio Andy’s Reality Checked, wrote with a re-sharing of the clip, also asking “Wow Ramona. Wow. Tone Deaf much?”
In the comments section of the post, some IG users expressed frustration and disappointment while others admitted they were not surprised.
“And people miss the old RHONY?” one person asked.
“It’s always the people you most expect,” another noted.
“People still follow her,” shared a third. “I don’t get it.”
“Here’s the weird thing. I am in LA and going through it so I should be the most offended. But it’s Ramona. So I’m not. It’s just who Ramona is lol,” someone else noted.
As RHONY fans will recall, Ramona previously faced backlash after being tied to a racism scandal on the show and also caused a stir with her controversial claims about the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Sometimes I reeeeeally miss old RHONY and then I’m reminded why they aren’t on TV anymore,” another person said after seeing Ramona’s latest post.
“Do we think [Ramona’s daughter, Avery Singer] ever tells her how tone-deaf she is?” someone else wondered. “I would tell my mother!! Embarrassing!!!”
Still, others felt like the post was “classic Ramona.”
“This woman is insufferable,” someone noted.
Also in the comments, others slammed Ramona as “self-absorbed” and “self-serving,” and noted she’s the “most consistent boomer in the game.”
