Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is in full swing. As with any reality TV show, there has been a ton of drama, but many have discussed the feud between Mary Cosby and Meredith Marks. Now, Mary is opening up about the real issues behind their falling out as well as giving an update on her son, Robert Cosby Jr., who fans have been worried about due to his appearances on the show.
Fans will recall that the RHOSLC trailer and the latest episode highlighted issues with Mary and Meredith, with the former seen calling her out during a heated argument. Of course, Meredith has also said she believes that Mary used her.
Now, Mary is opening up to Page Six about the drama and revealing where it stemmed from. According to Mary, “I feel like we’ve been on a slippery slope since I’ve bonded with Angie. Meredith is the type of person who likes to be in an alliance with someone.”
She goes on, “And if you befriend that person that she doesn’t like, she kind of pulls away from you. And that’s what happened.”
Of course, Mary and Angie Katsanevas weren’t the best of friends in previous seasons. However, they have really hit it off, and it seems to viewers that Meredith, who has been a bit absent this season, is bothered by this newfound friendship.
Mary also addressed Meredith’s belief that someone was recording her, as seen in the trailer. She says, “Nobody’s recording Meredith. I’m just saying, nobody’s recording Meredith. Like, for what? Who would need to do that? We’re on a show already.”
Mary also gave an update to US Weekly on her son, Robert, as he continues to fight his substance abuse issues. When asked how he’s faring lately, Mary said, “He’s steady, which I think is good.”
She continues, “It’s a heavy topic. But for me, because it all just came at once on me, and I didn’t expect it, but I’m taking it day by day.” Notably, Angie, who was also in the interview, shared similar sentiments.
Mary also shared that Robert has plans for the future and that he wants to become more independent. According to her, “He told me the other day, ‘Mom, I’m going to get my own place.’ And I said, ‘Well, how are you going to pay for it?’”
She adds, “Because it was his birthday [recently]. He goes, ‘I’m going to use my birthday money.’ I said, ‘You don’t even get life babe.’ He goes, ‘No, it’s a down payment’ and I [asked], ‘The down payment on what?’ He goes. ‘A house.’”
Fans can watch RHOSLC on Wednesday nights on Bravo.
