Richard Gere rang in the New Year by taking two of his sons, Alexander, 5, and James, 4, on a special vacation.
Gere's wife, Alejandra, posted a sweet Instagram story on January 1 of the Pretty Woman actor, 75, walking hand-in-hand on a bridge with one of the boys.
"Visiting cuenca," Alejandra, 41, captioned the video.
In the clip, the little boy also walks the family dog, as Alejandra pans to show off the city's views and architecture.
Alejandra also previously shared an Instagram post on November 29, 2024, of the boys helping out with the Christmas tree decorations, as it's their first holiday in a new place.
Gere and Alejandra moved to Madrid in October 2024, making Cuenca around a two-hour journey for their vacation. The Runaway Bride actor sold his $11 million Connecticut home in preparation for the move.
"For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends, and her culture," Gere told Vanity Fair Spain in April 2024. "She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers."
"I love Spain, and I think your lifestyle is fabulous," he added, speaking directly to his wife. "Also, your ability to live transmitting joy and happiness. It is a beautiful place, the food is extraordinary, and the people exude sensitivity and generosity, as well as a strong will to laugh and enjoy."
Gere also previously revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2024 that both Alexander and James are bilingual, which would allow for a seamless transition in Spain. "They're going to flourish there," Gere said.
"People care about each other," he admitted in a November 2024 interview with Elle Spain. "You know, in my part of the world, those kinds of bonds, social bonds, and community bonds are breaking down, so I do appreciate them."
