Ricky Martin might be a global superstar, but his favorite job is being a dad who cherishes every moment with his four kids. The singer occasionally gives fans a peek into his personal life on social media, and they love seeing his fatherhood journey. In a recent post, he shared a carousel of adorable photos, including some selfies with his “princess,” Lucía.
On December 2, Ricky posted a fun album on Instagram, calling it “silly selfies,” tagging the location as Miami, Florida. Most of the shots were smiling selfies flashing a peace sign, but he also included some recent photos of Lucía. In one especially sweet snap, Ricky posed next to his little girl while in bed.
Another shot showed the two peering through a fence, and it looked like Ricky had just picked her up from school. Lucía wore what seemed to be a uniform, and Ricky carried what is most likely her bright, colorful backpack.
Lucía, Ricky’s only daughter, and fans couldn’t help but gush over the post. Lucía, who’s soon celebrating her sixth birthday, is the eldest of Ricky’s two children with his ex-husband, Jwan Yosef. The former couple, who split last year, also share a five-year-old son, Renn.
Ricky: The proud dad
Earlier this year, while promoting his Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, Ricky opened up about parenting in an interview with Martha Debayle. “They’re so gorgeous, aren’t they?” he said with pride when she brought up his kids. He also talked about a recent trip to Japan with his 15-year-old twins, Valentino and Matteo.
Reflecting on fatherhood, Ricky shared how it’s been a life-changing experience. “Everything is a surprise. You never know what’s going to happen. That’s the thing about parenting. Every day is different,” he said.
When it came to describing his children, Ricky didn’t hold back. “I’ve got four kids now. Each one is a completely different universe. I’ve got Lucía, who’s the queen of the house—and she knows it. Then there’s baby Renn, who’s so sweet. I call him Ren Zen because he’s so chill, just has this amazing flow.” “And if you want surprises in life,” Ricky added, “then be a parent, because you never, ever know what’s coming.”
